Recognitions included those for students’ attendance, character, and more.
Fairfield, CA (June 2, 2026) – The spirit of achievement, character, and community was on full display at Rolling Hills Elementary School during its recent Character Trait Assembly, where students were recognized for exemplifying positive values and reaching important academic milestones.
Throughout the assembly, students were honored for demonstrating outstanding character traits such as cooperation, courage, responsibility, kindness, and respect. Teachers and staff celebrated students who consistently model these qualities both in and out of the classroom, helping to create a positive and supportive school environment.
The event also highlighted student success in reading through the school's Accelerated Reader (AR) program. Students who met or exceeded their AR goals were recognized for their dedication to literacy and learning. One exceptional student received special recognition for reading more than one million words this school year, a remarkable accomplishment that reflects a strong commitment to reading and academic excellence.
In addition, the assembly served as a heartfelt farewell to Ms. Williams, a beloved Rolling Hills educator who is retiring after 12 years at the school and an impressive 37-year career with FSUSD. Families, students, and colleagues came together to celebrate her unwavering dedication, compassion, and lasting impact on generations of learners. Many shared stories of her remarkable ability to build meaningful connections with students, supporting them both academically and personally throughout her career. Her legacy of care, commitment, and excellence will continue to be felt throughout the school community for years to come.
“It has been an honor to serve the Rolling Hills community for the past 11 years,” said Ms. Williams. “I will deeply miss the students, families, and colleagues who have made every day so rewarding.”
As the year comes to a close, Rolling Hills Elementary celebrates not only academic success and character development, but also the educators who help shape its culture and the students who bring it to life each day.
“Rolling Hills Elementary is a shining example of what happens when strong relationships, high expectations, and a caring school community come together,” said Jennifer Sachs, FSUSD Superintendent. “We are proud of our students’ growth and deeply appreciative of our staff’s commitment to helping every child succeed.”
The event served as a meaningful reminder of what makes Rolling Hills Elementary special — a community that recognizes character, celebrates achievement, and honors those who make a difference.
